We are more than just a gym at Flatland Crossfit. We are a community creating the fittest people in Lubbock, TX. It is no secret that Crossfit training is hard work. It can look overwhelming and daunting but the truth is anyone can do it. Just like with any kind of skill, it takes time and practice to develop talent and mastery. And, that is why we are here. We are here to help you realize your true potential, that you can do Crossfit.
All of our coaches at Flatland Crossfit are at least Crossfit Level 1 Certified Instructors, ready and devoted to helping you improve and achieve your fitness goals. Each Crossfit class is managed and monitored by a Flatland Crossfit Coach to give you the encouragement and personal attention you need.
It is important to us to focus on proper technique before increasing the difficulty of any exercise. Every movement and exercise is scalable to meet your individual level of fitness. It is because of this core concept of Crossfit that makes our members so diverse. We have elite athletes to those that have never stepped inside a gym. We have members who are young and members that are more on the grey-haired side. We even have members working out that have had previous existing injuries. Each member works out to his or her current level of fitness.

We pride ourselves in programming broad, general, and inclusive Crossfit WODS that are constantly varied, functional movements performed at high intensity. Meaning what? We, at Flatland Crossfit, arrange workouts with different combinations of movements that the body was designed for and performs daily, such as squats, and execute them at a high level of intensity and speed. The results are much more effect than the two hours spent at the gym doing the same thing. And not only can you get it done in such a small amount of time, but you will also never ever get bored working out again.

I am CrossFit level 1 certified, Crossfit Olympic Lifting certified, and CrossFit Mobility certified. I have been doing CrossFit consistently since December 2011. I got CrossFit Level 1 certified in January 2012. Before I did CrossFit I thought I was in great shape, but after I did my first WOD I realized I didn’t know the first thing about fitness. Since then I have gotten in a lot better shape and I am continuing to learn about fitness and getting better at CrossFit. CrossFit has changed my life and has given me so much more confidence in every area of my life and I know that it has the ability to do the same for anybody who wants to try it out.

I started CrossFit in June of 2011 and have never looked backed. I got my CrossFit Level 1 Certificate in August of 2013 and been coaching ever since. I got my Mobility Certification in January of 2014 and have applied it to all my coaching. I started out as a ballet teacher and taught for 7-8 years but now I enjoy coaching CrossFit at Flatland CrossFit.

I was introduced to CrossFit in September 2012. In November 2014 I became a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer. I initially came to Flatland in support a friend who did not want to try CrossFit alone. After a couple of WOD’s, I was hooked. CrossFit has changed my perspective in health and fitness. The immense love, support and encouragement from the Flatland community made me become more passionate about CrossFit. I have built lifelong friendships through Flatland. I CrossFit because I want to be able to keep up with my daughter. I CrossFit because my wife and I push and support each other within our health and fitness lifestyle. I am blessed to be a part of Flatland CrossFit.

I was introduced to CrossFit in 2009 and decided it just wasn’t for me. But I still did it off and on because deep down I knew there was something awesome and life-changing about CrossFit, I just didn’t want to admit it. In 2012, something triggered and I began to see the positive effects it had on both my physical and mental health. I saw how showing up and giving 100% effort every day empowered me and everyone else in the gym, and how that empowerment carried over into day-to-day life. I found Flatland in July of 2015 and got CrossFit Level 1 certified soon after. The fitness aspect of Flatland is superior, but the community, support, and acceptance I have found here is even better! I am the “Yoga Coach” here at Flatland. I’ve held a Primary Yoga Certification and Advanced Yoga Certification through FiTOUR® since 2012. I also hold a Group Centergy certification through a company called MOSSA which I received in 2007. I’ll be honest…I NEVER thought I would be one of “thoooooose” Crossfit lovin’ people. I’m a busy mom of two toddlers, a wife, AND 4th grade teacher. It was never really my thing until my husband (a former “gym hater”) joined Flatland in 2014. I watched Crossfit literally change his life in a matter of months. He convinced me to try a class with him, and I haven’t looked back since. Okay…so Yoga?? It is the PERFECT complement to Crossfit! I can’t tell you how many times I hear people say things like, “I’m SO not flexible, or dang I’m sore!” Luckily I can help! The Yoga I teach is designed for the hesitant “what have I gotten myself into beginner” to your hardcore athlete and everyone in-between. So, no matter where you are in your fitness journey, you will benefit from Yoga. We work primarily on the fundamentals that will increase your flexibility and mobility, which will take your WOD to the next level. (Seriously, I could talk about more benefits ALL day…but I’ll stop here!) Oh, and here at Flatland, we are SUPER laid back, we have fun, AND the music is great!

Hello Fellow UNICORNS!
I am one of the awesome Olympic lifting coaches here at Flatland! I have been back in Lubbock sense to follow some dreams after my service to this amazing country of ours with the 101 st airborne division. I have served with some amazing people, amazing well-rounded athletes who coached and brought me into the Fitness world. I was one that talked a lot of mess about Cross-fit over the years and there love for awful form! But After having few friends talk me into going one night. Feel in love with community of it all! After dealing with the transition back to “normal” Civilian life hasn’t been the easiest transition. But never quitting on my self I am where I am today. I give all thanks and honestly wouldn’t be here with out my Flatland FAM. In December I will be holding a degree in Kinesiology with Minors in health and Arabic! I fell in love with Olympic lifting got a certification in it and many more to come from the American College of Sports Medicine. I also a huge believer
in YOGA!!!! Namaste my friends!!
